April 2021 MHSN Walk Down Memory Lane # 8
For our March Pandemic Madness Event we received 29 masked pictures and raised $145.00 for Moncton’s Humanity Project https://thehumanityproject.ca.
Thanks to everyone who participated! We’ll have all of those pictures available at our reunion reception in a slide presentation. They will not be posted on the website.
On April 15, 1971 MHSN hosted “The Last of the Stripes Review”. There were 39 acts listed in the program by last names only. Our class was active; participating in seven skits and two songs:
- The Old Folks Norman and Wheaton
- Ultra Brite -Brown and Campbell
- The Dating Game – Peters, Barry, Blair, Elliot and MacDonald (Ann, Cathy or Ibby?)
- Hanky Panky – Peters and Barry
- Ivory Soap – Dustin, Campbell, and Logan
- Transaction – Flannagan and Albert
- Trust and Never be Afraid – Albert and MacDonald (Ann, Cathy or Ibby?)
- Suzanne – Tingley (accompanied on guitar by Wilma Dustin?)
- Medley – Class ‘72
In 1972 on March 1st and 2nd MHSN hosted the first “Student Nurses Academy Performance” (SNAP). Joanne Logan and Donna Fraser were the producers. There were no names listed on the 22 acts contained in the program but here are some of the interesting titles:
- Essentials of a Good Student Nurse
- Bad Connections
- Come Florence
- Letter Home
- Good Impressions
- Seniors Reminiscence
We indicated in our first reunion email, July 2020, that we were planning to have a “Reinvented SNAP” as part of our 50th celebrations. We have written five songs for the class to sing and know of possibly 2-3 skits that are planned. How about it? Do some of the names of skits from the past get your creative juices flowing? If so, drop us a line and tell us what you plan. Remember they don’t have to pass the scrutiny of Mrs. Wright and Miss Hayes like back in the day.
Check out our website mhsn1972.com for memorabilia added from our graduation September 6, 1972 and from the closure of MHSN in 1975. Who remembers the classes we had with Miss Barnes modelling school in preparation for graduation? What advice do you think Ruth Barnes would have for our 70-year-old bodies? Who can spy Miss AJ McMaster in the closure pictures? This month we’ve added 18 new photos including: 8 in the Residence Section of 1st year, one in 2nd year half way party section and 9 in 3rd year.
Time is fast approaching for our cut-off of June 2021 for submitting us a recent picture and information about what you have done since graduation. We’ve received eight to date. In our December 2020 email we attached Geraldine Norman’s submission as a sample to get you started. It would be especially nice to have updates from those classmates unable to attend.
